Is Prepaid internet available for your mobile phone in the Philippines?

I’m looking at getting internet for my mobile phone.. As I am in the Philippines for an indefinite period of time. At this stage I can’t quite commit myself to a post paid plan

I currently have a HTC desire which is Internet capable… My current smart(mobile provider) sim card doesn’t work with internet.

I have mobile broadband for my laptop, but would like internet on my phone..

I was wondering if there is any possible way I can get internet for my mobile phone prepaid!
Is it possible for me to say visit a ‘smart’ store and they can upgrade my sim card to both mobile calls and text as well as internet?

Use globe sim instead of smart simcard. globe is capable for internet in phone and if you want for your laptop use broadband globe tattoo kit.
